What started as a baking class at George Brown College with some friends in 2014 led to opening a bakery in 2019.
Nabil fell in love with baking during that first class, so while working full time at BMO he attended evening classes that eventually led to certification. With diploma in hand he left the bank to work full time in the baking industry with a dream to one day open his own space. Tracy would do the business aspect while Nabil ran the kitchen...The intention was to find a new home outside of Toronto and open a little bakery, enjoy a slower pace and create a new life.
In the meantime, For Nabil's 40th birthday we travelled to a favorite destination, Puerto Vallarta Mexico. As chance would have it, on that trip we met a couple from Norwich Ontario - a town we had never heard of - but, with a future invite to visit, we soon became familiar with the area.
One day while wandering down Dundas Street in Woodstock we saw a for rent sign in what looked like a promising space and location. We weren't quite ready to make our move, nor had we even decided on the town we wanted to move to, but called the realtor anyway. The story was that the space had been intended to be converted to a bakery, and, even better, some of the work had already been started....a promising sign. The next night we went out for Chinese Food to discuss our options...and with the stars aligned, Nabil got a fortune that said "You will open a successful business". The decision was made....and here we are!!
